Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Alphonsus Maher:

Br. Alphonsus Maher was a member of the Congregation of the Religious Brothers of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis. According to media reports, in September 2019, he was named in two lawsuits filed under the NY Child Victims Act. The first alleged that he sexually abused a 16-year-old boy in 1974, while serving as the principal of Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School, in Brooklyn, New York. The second alleged he had sexually abused another minor boy from 1978 to 1980 at the same school. 

Maher died in 1999.
