Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Ben O’Reilly:

Br. Ben O’Reilly was a member of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. According to media reports, in June 2013, he was named in a lawsuit filed by a woman who alleged she was sexually harassed as a 14-year-old freshman in 2006, by O’Reilly, her Spanish teacher at St. Francis Prep in Queens, New York. She reported her complaint to school officials after he told her, “You know, my goal in life is to give you pleasure.”

The Principal admitted that O’Reilly had a history of harassing girls. O’Reilly was evaluated by a psychologist who determined he was unfit to work with children. He was removed from the classroom, but allowed to continue living on campus. He told students that the alleged victim was a “lunatic with a vendetta against men.” The suit stated she suffered from depression and other issues as a result of the harassment from O’Reilly.

O’Reilly’s current whereabouts are unknown.
