Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Brother Robert Post:
In 1955, Br. Robert Post became a member of the Congregation of Christian Brothers at the age of 17. He worked in Canada, Italy, and the United States until he left the order to pursue the priesthood. He was ordained in 1982 by the Diocese of Bridgeport.
In 2007, Post was accused of having engaged in improper behavior with a male student while working at Blessed Sacrament in New Rochelle, New York. Five years later, another victim came forward claiming that he had been sexually abused by Post in the 1970s as well. Two more men emerged with similar claims, and the three victims became a part of a legal suit against the Christian Brothers.
Since the allegations were over 30 years old, Post was never convicted of any criminal charges.
As of 2016, Post has been retired and living at a priest’s retirement residence in Stamford.
