Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Vincent Jerome:
Brother Vincent Jerome taught in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Japan. According to media reports, a lawsuit was filed alleging that he beat and sexually abused a 10-year-old boy while he was a teacher at St Vincent’s Orphanage. He would sit next to the boy while watching tv, cover him with a blanket and then reach under his pajamas to fondle his penis. At night, similar abuse occurred in the boys’ dormitory. If the boy resisted, he and the whole dormitory would be severely punished, according to the suit. This and at least one more lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse by Brother Jerome were settled.
As of 2012, Brother Jerome was last known to be living at a Marist Retirement Residence in Miami, Florida.
