Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Remy Rudin:

Brother Remy Rudin was a member of the Franciscan order who worked in the O’odham community of Topawa in the 1950s, from 1977 to 1978 and again from 1985 to 1989. According to media reports, in 2004, he was credibly accused in lawsuits of abusing at least eight boys when they were minors at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Oregon, a correctional center for teenage boys, between 1965 and 1975 while serving as a chaplain. He was one of at least twenty-six Franciscan perpetrators sent to Santa Barbara following their expulsion from the Diocese of San Diego.

In 2019, Brother Remy Rudin’s name was included on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans’ and Diocese of Phoenix’s  lists of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse.

He died in 1991.
