Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Anthony Jablonowski:

Father Anthony Jablonowski was ordained for the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky. In 1980, he transferred to the Diocese of Cheyenne, then in 2000 to the Diocese of Steubenville. According to media reports, Father Jablonowski pleaded no contest to 2004 charges of abusing a 17-year-old boy in 1982. He was sentenced to 15 months to seven years in prison. His priestly faculties were revoked after the allegations surfaced.

Father Jablonowski was also accused of conducting rituals of penance that involved hanging young men upside down, bound, gagged and blindfolded with cords tied to their genitals – and flogging them. In March 2005, another accuser filed a civil suit. He was released from prison July 2005, and required to register as a sex offender. He returned to live in Ohio.

Father Jablonowski was on the Diocese of Tuscon’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors. He was referred to as Steubenville priest. In June 2006, he was laicized.

In October 2018, his name appeared on the Diocese of Steubenville’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors, as well as the the Diocese of Cheyenne’ list in June 2019. It noted four adolescent male victims, with the abuse occurring from 1983-1988.
