Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Dennis Pecore :

Before becoming a priest, Father Dennis Pecore was a Salvatorian brother. According to media reports, in 1987, Father Pecore was charged with sexually abusing a child for three years at Mother of Good Counsel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1985. He was sentenced to one year in the Milwaukee County House of Correction with work release privileges and was placed on five years’ probation.

In 1993, Father Pecore was accused of sexually abusing his nephew, a minor, from approximately 1989 to 1992. He was convicted in 1994, and sentenced to twelve years in prison and ten years’ probation. He was laicized in 1995.

In February 2002, he was released from prison, and his name was added to the sex offender registry. Later that year, he accused of sexually abusing a minor while he worked as a Salvatorian brother from 1975 to 1976 at Holy Trinity in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

In October 2016, he was named in a lawsuit accusing him of  sexually abusing a young boy in the 1980s. In 2018, another lawsuit was filed alleging that Father Pecore sexually abused a minor at St. Mary’s in Phoenix, Arizona.

Father Pecore was included on the Diocese of Phoenix’s list of “Names of priests of religious communities who have served in the Diocese of Phoenix and have been laicized and/or removed from ministry by their communities due to sexual misconduct with a minor,” published in February 2018.

In February of 2018, A Maricopa County Superior Court judge ruled that a lawsuit could move forward against the Phoenix Diocese for an alleged cover-up of sexual abuse. The civil suit alleged that Father Pecore sexually abused a child at St. Mark’s Catholic Church where he was assigned from 1982 to 1983.

Father Pecore is currently believed to be living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
