Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Floyd Stromberg:

According to media reports, Father Floyd Stromberg was named in a September 2002 article about sexual misconduct with minors. He retired in March 2002, but was placed on leave a few months later in July after an allegation of child sexual abuse from 1966 surfaced.  The Diocese of Tucson said he worked at three parishes the year of the allegation, including St. Gregory in Phoenix, St. Francis of Assisi in Superior, and St. Ambrose in Tucson.

In April 2005, he was named in a civil suit as one of several abusers of a minor girl at Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary convent between 1954-1938. In March 2006, he was also named in a suit by one man claiming abuse at the same convent.

The review of archival records has shown that he was given assignments after there was awareness of an allegation.

He died December 2007.

His name appeared on the Diocese of Tucson’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors.
