Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Gerald Jasinski:

According to media reports, in June 1986, Father Gerald Jasinski was arrested and criminally charged with felony, sodomy, sexual abuse, and unlawful dealings with a child in Wyoming County. He was accused of having sexual contact with two teen boys, aged 15 and 18 at a cabin in the Town of Sheldon. He was the pastor at St. Mary of the Assumption in Lancaster at the time. Father Jasinski pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of first-degree attempted sexual abuse in August 1986 and sentenced to five years probation. 

In March 2018, Father Jasinski’s name was included in the Diocese of Buffalo’s list of priests who “were removed from ministry, were retired, or left ministry after allegations of sexual abuse of a minor.”  No information regarding the allegations was disclosed.  

In August 2019, Father Jasinski was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing an 11-year old altar boy at St. John Gualbert in Cheektowaga from 1972 through 1975. His current whereabouts are unknown.
