Summary of Allegations Against Father John R. Chess:

Father John R. Chess was first publicly identified as an accused priest on the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s August 2018 list of priests with substantiated allegations of abuse.  The Diocese of Pittsburgh did not offer any details about the allegation(s) that have been made against Chess, except to say that at least one led to his removal in 1991.

Chess died in 2011, according to the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  At the time of his death, he was a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh without assignment.
