In 1988, Fr. Jose Ignatius Kuruthukulaugara worked temporarily in the Diocese of Trenton. According to media reports, during his time in the Diocese of Trenton, a 7-year-old girl accused Kuruthukulaugara of sexually abusing her. He fled back to India shortly after the allegation was made. It is unclear where the abuse took place, who was involved, or the victim’s affiliation to Kuruthukulaugara.
When the Diocese of Trenton published its list of credibly accused priests in February 2019, Kuruthukulaugara was not included on the list.
Kuruthukulaugara’s current location is unknown, but he is believed to be living and working in his native India.
