Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Michael D’Amico:

According to media reports, in 2005, a 54-year-old man accused Father Michael D’Amico of repeatedly abusing him when he was 13 years old and the priest was assigned to Most Holy Redeemer Church in Westville Grove, New Jersey in 1964. The abuse took place during D’Amico’s first year in the priesthood.

The Diocese of Camden removed D’Amico from ministry after the man told the church about the abuse. The church contacted Gloucester County prosecutors, but the statute of limitations had long ago expired on any criminal prosecution.

D’Amico’s name appears on the February 2019 Diocese of Camden list of credibly accused priests published.  According to Bishop Sullivan, the list, “includes those who admitted to the abuse, those who were found guilty after a trial in the church courts or the civil courts, and others against whom the evidence was so overwhelming as to be virtually unquestionable.”

D’Amico passed away in 2010.
