Summary of Allegations Against Father Myles Eric Diskin:

According to documents subpoenaed from the Diocese of Pittsburgh, there were multiple complaints of sexual abuse made against Father Diskin over the past few decades.

First, an adult male contacted the Butler County DA’s office in 2002 to report that he had been sexually abused as a boy by Diskin in the 1970s. Later in 2002, a woman reported to the Butler County DA’s office that she had been sexually touched by Diskin in the 1970s. Both of these victims said that the abuse took place at St. Paul’s in Butler.

Another victim came forward to the Butler County DA’s office in 2004. He said that from 1976 to 1977 when he was 13 to 14 years old, Father Diskin sexually abused him in multiple places, including his car, the sanctuary of St. Paul, at school, in the rectory, and in the victim’s own home. The victim stated that the abuse included Diskin fondling his genital area and giving him oral sex.

A 2004 diocesan memorandum revealed still another victim from the 1970s who said he was a minor when he was sexually abused by Diskin at St. Paul.

Two more complaints were made in 2015: one to the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, and one to the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The victim who reported to the Allegheny County DA’s office said he was abused by Diskin when he was 15 to 16 years old between 1976 and 1977. The victim who reported to the Diocese of Pittsburgh was a woman who said she was inappropriately touched by Diskin as minor in Butler County in the mid-1970s.

A letter from 2003 revealed that Diskin admitted to having a sexual relationship with a male minor while assigned to a church in Butler. He said this abuse ended in 1979 or 1980.

Diskin has also been named in multiple civil lawsuits against the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Diskin is still living and is believed to be residing in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area.  He is 70 years old.
