Paul R. Coyle was ordained in 1937 and was assigned to multiple parishes in the Pittsburgh area. He was first publicly identified as a priest accused of sexual abuse in the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s August 2018 list of accused priests. No information was provided regarding the allegation(s) against Coyle, except to say that the Diocese of Pittsburgh received its first allegation after his death.

Information concerning Coyle’s history is limited, and all known assignments are listed above. He also served as secretary of the Pittsburgh Diocesan Tribunal. According to a Catholic media report from the 1970s, he was also part of the Diocesan Board of Consultors.

Coyle died in 1991.
