Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Philip Marin:

Fr. Philip Marin served in the Diocese of Pueblo. According to media reports, in October 2019, the Colorado Attorney General released a detailed report of a special investigation into the handling of child sexual abuse allegations by Colorado’s three Catholic dioceses.  For the first time, Fr. Marin was publicly identified as a priest with a documented report of sexual abuse.

According to the documents reviewed by the investigators, Fr. Marin was accused of sexually abusing a 5 or 6-year old girl in 1956 while he was assigned to Our Lady of Assumption in Trinidad.

The woman made the report to the Diocese of Pueblo in 2009.  The Diocese paid her a monetary settlement.

Fr. Marin died in 1976.
