Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Raymond Callahan:

According to the Archdiocese of Washington, multiple credible allegations of sexual abuse against Father Raymond Callahan were made in 1971. According to reports, he would take boys to a cabin in Virginia.

In 1971, Father Callahan was removed from the ministry. That same year, he was convicted, but did not serve any prison time. He was laicized in 1977, and died in 1996.  

There is at least one claim against Father Callahan included in a $1.3M settlement with 16 men who alleged abuse by Archdiocesan priests from 1962-1982.

In October 2018, Father Callahan’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Washington’s list of credibly accused priests.
