Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Richard Judd:

According to media reports, in March 2003, the Diocese of Tucson released the names of Father Richard Judd and four other priests and a deacon who had been accused of child sexual abuse. No information on the allegations against each priest, including age/gender of the victims, or the priest’s assignment at the time of the alleged abuse was released.

Father Judd was ordained a priest for the Servants of the Holy Paraclete in 1964, and worked for the Order for several years in New Mexico and Arizona. The exact dates of his presence in the Diocese of Tucson cannot be ascertained, but he lived in the Tucson area in the early 1970s. During that time, he had worked with Salpointe Catholic High School and provided some priestly ministry for brief periods at St. Pius X Parish and St. Cyril of Alexandria Parish.

In 1974, Father Judd moved to the Diocese of Buffalo and began working at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus in Niagara Falls, New York. He continued to work in the Diocese of Buffalo until his death in 1988.

In March 2018, the Diocese of Buffalo included Father Richard P. Judd on its list of priests who have been accused of child sexual abuse. Information regarding the allegations or Father Judd’s prior assignments were not disclosed.
