According to media reports, in November 2003, the Diocese of Tucson announced credible sexual abuse allegations against Sister Riter Rosaria dating back to 1949-1953. The alleged abuse involved a young boy and occurred when she served on the faculty at Sacred Heart School. The allegations were reported to the police. She died in 1996. She was the first woman to be named by the review board in a sex abuse case.
