Summary of Abuse Allegations against Deacon Lawrence McNeill:
According to media reports, Deacon Lawrence McNeill was ordained in 1973. In 2019, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The claims against him are eligible for the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP).
Very little is known of McNeill’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of New York has not released any information about McNeill’s assignment history. In addition, information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or McNeill’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.
McNeil died in 2006.
