Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Edito D’Amora:

Father Edito D’Amora was ordained a priest of the Dipolog diocese in the Philippines in 1980, who served in the Diocese of San Diego. According to media reports, in 1991, a 10-year-old girl accused Father D’Amora of sexually abusing her on two occasions while he was visiting her family home in San Diego in 1983. While the father also notified San Diego County authorities, it is unclear whether Father D’Amora was ever charged with a crime.

In March 2007, his name appeared on the list of priests clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse
released by the Diocese of San Diego. His personnel file was released in October 2010. The documents were released as part of a $200 million settlement San Diego reached with 144 victims.

According to court documents, Father D’Amora was among the priests and lay people the Diocese of Orange paid out a total of $100 million in settlements in 2005. His individual case was settled for $1.42 million. Whether the case outlined in the San Diego documents is the same one the Orange County diocese paid out is unclear.

Father D’Amora’s current whereabouts and whether he has access to children is unknown, although it is believed that he has been living in Lake City, Florida since 2017.
