Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Aloysius Joseph D’Silva:

Father Aloysius Joseph D’Silva was ordained a priest in 1961, and served in the Diocese of Charlotte. According to media reports, in December of 1998, a teenager reported that Father Aloysius D’Silva inappropriately touched and kissed her at St. Bernadette Catholic Mission in Linville. D’Silva denied the allegation and the Diocese of Charlotte could not substantiate the allegation at the time.

As part of the Diocese of Charlotte’s 2019 historical file review, the allegation was re-examined and found credible through an independent internal investigation. His name now appears on the Diocese’s list of credibly accused priests.

D’Silva died in 2005, according to the Diocese of Charlotte.
