Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Ron DeChant:

Father Anthony Tassin was a Benedictine priest, who had internal assignments at Saint Joseph Abbey. He reportedly left the monastery in 1969 and was removed from ministry in 1971. He died in July 2012.

According to media reports, in November 2018, his name appeared publicly on the Benedictine St. Joseph Abbey’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. It noted an allegation of child sexual abuse in the early 1960s was received in 2006. No further information regarding the allegation including age/gender of the victims was disclosed. That same month Father Tassin’s name appeared publicly on the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ list of clergy credibly accused of child sex abuse.
