Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Arthur Murphy:

Fr. Arthur Murphy was ordained in 1919. In April 2019, his name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. The claims against him were deemed eligible for the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP). 

Very little is known of Murphy’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of New York has not released any information about Murphy’s assignment history. In addition, information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Murphy’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.

Murphy died in 1959.
