Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Augustus “Gus” Griffin:

Fr. Augustus “Gus” Griffin was a priest of the Society of the Divine Word. According to media reports, in the summer of 2007, he was accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy in the 1970s at St. Bernard Church in Sunrise, Florida. The boy’s parents had asked the priest to counsel their son when they had problems.

In August 2019, Griffin was accused in a lawsuit filed under the NY Child Victims Act, of sexually abusing a 12-year-old altar server at St. Mary’s in East Islip in 1968.

His current whereabouts are unknown.
