Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Carl A Urban:

In 2004, a plaintiff’s attorney accused Fr. Carl A Urban of a sexual incident with a boy in a public restroom in 1989. Urban denied the accusation and complained to the State Bar Association.

According to media reports, in July of 2011, another man came forward saying he had been sexually abused by five different priests, one of whom was Urban. He had retired a few months prior to the second allegation while being a pastor of St. Adalbert in Schenectady, New York. He was placed on administrative leave while the Diocese investigated the claims.

By November of 2011, Urban was cleared of wrongdoing by the diocese’s own review board and returned to active retired status.

Urban’s whereabouts since being reinstated were unknown. He died in 2020.
