Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Carl Stone:

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany removed Fr. Carl Stone from ministry in 1981, due to him pleading guilty to sodomy charges stemming from an incident that alleged sex with two teenage brothers in Colonie, New York. He was placed on probation for five years.

Stone applied for Canadian citizenship and was on probation when he went to the Cornwall area in Canada. In 1985, he was fired after his new job had learned of new accusations against the priest involving inviting young men into his room at St. Joseph’s Villa.

Accusations were also out that Eugene LaRocque, a former Catholic Bishop in Canada, knew about Stone’s past when he hired him after the arrest.

Most recently, his name appeared on the list of “Clergy Credibly Accused While Serving in the Diocese of Albany” this November of 2018.

After being removed, Carl Stone died in 2006.
