Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Carl Duane Tresler:

Father Carl Duane Tresler was ordained a priest in 1991, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to the Archdiocese, he was removed from ministry after receiving an allegation that he sexually abused a15-year-old boy in 1998. Father Tresler denied the allegation and moved to Huancavelica, in the mountains of Peru, where he served as a pastor, seminary boss and diocesan administrator for the Diocese of Peru.

According to media reports, in 2005, Cardinal Mahony reportedly said that, if he had it to do over again, he would request the Vatican to laicize Father Tresler.

Father Duane Tresler’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. His current whereabouts are unknown.
