March 20, 2018, The Diocese of Buffalo released an updated list of priests who have been accused of child sexual abuse. One name that was included for the first time was Father Chester Stachewicz. The list did not disclose any information regarding the specific allegations against Stachewicz or any of his prior assignments. The diocese also did not include the number of victims, but only included deceased priests if there was more than one credible accusation against them. According to the Diocese, Father Stachewicz died in 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His obituary reported that he had joined the Orthodox-Catholic Church of America in 1989, where he worked as a priest in New Mexico until his death.
