Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Clarence Biggers:

Fr. Clarence Biggers was ordained a priest in 1950, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. He is identified as a subject of credible allegations of sexual abuse in the Diocese of Baton Rouge and the Archdiocese of Atlanta. According to media reports, in 2002 several female victims accused Biggers of molesting them in the early 1960’s when Biggers was a priest at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. One accuser recalls Biggers kissing and fondling her over several months when she was between 10-11 years old. In 1964, Fr. Biggers was transferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Paulina, LA where he is also accused of abusing several young girls. These allegations surfaced on September 14, 2000. In 1967, at the direction of the Marist orders, left the Diocese of Baton Rouge. After serving as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Atlanta, Fr. Biggers entered the Monastery of Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA where he remained until his death in 2009.
