Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Daniel Patrick Brady:

Daniel Patrick Brady was first named publicly as a priest accused of sexual abuse by the New Orleans archdiocese on its list in November of 2018. The allegation against Brady was received in 2002 of abuse that occurred in the 1960’s and 1970’s. His name has also been included on the Baton Rouge diocese’s list in 2019. The incident in Baton Rouge refers to an allegation received in February of 1994 of abuse from 1961-1963 while being assigned to Holy Ghost in Hammond. No further information has been released about the age/gender of the accusers or the number of victims who have come forward. 

Daniel Patrick Brady died in 1999. 

In April of 2020, the Archdiocese of New Orleans filed for bankruptcy protection. As part of its bankruptcy, the Archdiocese of New Orleans will be reviewing and paying claims for anyone sexually abused by diocesan priests and lay employees. This will likely include claims filed on behalf of anyone whose case may be beyond the statute of limitations.
