Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Edward Franklin:

The Diocese of Ogdensburg released a list of 28 priests who were credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor or a vulnerable adult on November 13th, 2018. One priest that was first named publicly as accused of abuse by the list was Father Edward Franklin.

The Ogdensburg Diocese did not include the number of alleged victims or the time frame that the alleged abuse occurred. The only information given about Father Franklin was that he had been removed from ministry by the Ogdensburg diocese in 1996, and died in April of 2005.

Each name on the list has been internally investigated and found to have reasonable grounds by the Diocesan Review Board. His name also appears on the Hartford archdiocese’s list of credibly accused priests as of January 2019.
