Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Edward J. Walker:

On March 20th, 2018, the Diocese of Buffalo released a list of priests who were removed from ministry, or who were retired or left the ministry after allegations of sexual abuse of a minor. One name that was added for the first time was Father Edward J. Walker, who has been listed as being deceased since 2002. The list only included living priests with one accusation, or deceased priests with more than one substantial claim against them. Father Walker was officially charged in a lawsuit as of August 2019, under the New York Child Victims Act. A man came forward and alleged that Walker had molested him for a decade, beginning when the boy was just 12-years-old in 1953. The exact location of the abuse is unknown, but Walker was assigned to St. Joseph’s Church in Fredonia at the time. This is one of many lawsuits being filed in New York against specific priests and the Diocese of Buffalo.
