Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Edwin Collins:

Father Edwin Collins worked at various parishes in the Diocese of Brooklyn, as well as in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. According to media reports, in 1998, Father Collins resigned from ministry following an accusation that he sexually abused a teenage boy in Palm Beach, Florida.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s reports, Father Collins tried to fondle him after he fell asleep in the priest’s bed. An administrator with the Diocese of Palm Beach told detectives that Father Collins admitted he inappropriately touched the boy, who was 13 or 14 at the time. The priest, however, told investigators that he never touched him.

Father Collins was retired in Florida at the time the alleged abuse occurred. His current whereabouts are unknown.
