Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Gaspar Bautista:

Father Gaspar Bautista was ordained a priest in 1975. Originally from Huejutla, Mexico, he was incardinated into the Diocese of Fresno in 2004. According to media reports, in 2016, he was placed on leave after the Diocese of Fresno was alerted by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles about allegations reported that Father Bautista was involved in inappropriate behavior with a minor.

The alleged incidents were said to have occurred in 1999 or 2000, during Bautista’s time in Los Angeles. They were not made public until October of 2018. Since then, he has been put on paid administrative leave until the investigation has been cleared. His name also appeared on the updated December 2018, Los Angeles’ Archdiocese’s list of credibly accused clergy members.
