Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father George J Stack:
According to media reports, Fr. George J Stack was removed from ministry in 2002. In October 2002, he was named in a lawsuit alleging that he sexually abused a boy in 1976 at a summer home used by the priest. The survivor was a student at Cathedral Preparatory in Elmhurst, New York. Stack retired in 2003.
In October 2003, a huge civil suit filed by 27 people alleged child sexual abuse by 24 priests, including Stack. He was accused of abusing two boys in the 1960s at Our Lady of the Snows in North Floral Park, New York. One of the boys committed suicide at age 29, and the suit was filed by the administrator of his estate.
In February 2019, Stack’s name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. His current whereabouts are unknown.
