Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Gerald Twomey:

According to media reports, in May 2007, Father Gerald Twomey was immediately placed on administrative leave without privileges after the Diocese of Rockville Centre received an allegation he had sexually abused a 10-year-old boy from 1994 to 1995 while at St. Anne’s in Brentwood, NY. The alleged incident occurred in “a private home in 1996, while the boy was recovering from a car accident. Father Twomey denied all allegations. No criminal charges were filed because the statute of limitations had expired. 

In March 2008, Father Twomey was arrested on an accusation that he sexually abused an adult male in 2006. His current whereabouts are unknown. Father Twomey is listed on the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s 2021 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
