Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Harold Hugh Paul:

Father Harold Hugh Paul was ordained a priest in 1957 and served in multiple parishes in New York. According to media reports, in May 2019, a lawsuit was filed accusing the priest of allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy in 1961 when he served at St. Joseph’s Church in Hewlett, New York, part of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Father Paul was laicized in August 1968, and reportedly went on to marry and raise a family in New York. For 25 years, he served as a consultant to not-for-profit organizations until his death in August 2007, leaving behind a wife and four sons. Father Paul’s name is listed on the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s 2021 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
