Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Howard Joseph Richmond:

Fr. Howard Joseph Richmond was originally ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Charleston in South Carolina. In the early 1950s, he transferred to Brooklyn.

In 2003, Richmond was one of 24 priests named in a civil suit filed by 27 plaintiffs alleging child sexual abuse. According to media reports, it is alleged that Richmond watched the alleged rape by Fr. Richard Lewkiewicz.

Very little is known of Richmond’s activities within the church as the Diocese of Brooklyn has not released any information about Richmond’s assignment history.

Richmond retired in 1977 and moved to San Diego, California. He died in January 1986.
