Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Hugh Behan:

According to a new report released in 2020 on Catholic clergy sex crimes and cover-ups by Florida law enforcement officials, Fr. Hugh Behan was named as one of the three mid-Missouri clerics who moved or was sent to the Sunshine State after having been accused of sexually assaulting children.

In 1993, Fr. Behan was accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in 1983. No criminal or civil charges were filed, but he was ordered to attend treatment for sexual misconduct at St. Luke’s in Suitland, Md. In 1999, Behan was dismissed from public ministry.

In 2002, Fr. Behan moved to Orlando and got a job greeting guests at Disney World. Disney officials said that Behan left the job a week prior to the news report, as he was under investigation by the Osage County Sheriff’s Department.
