Father James Cairnan Haggerty entered the Franciscan Order in 1950. He was the former principal of Archbishop Walsh High School. According to media reports, he was named publicly as accused in a broadcast news report in April 2019. Father Haggerty was among more than 20 accused priests whose names were never released by the Diocese of Buffalo even though allegations against him were reviewed the previous June by the Diocesan Review Board. Father Haggerty died in 1991.
