Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father James (Michael) Taylor:

In 2014, Fr. James Taylor was only ordained for two years when he was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was working at St. Kateri Tekakwitha in Schenectady, New York at the time.

Taylor had inappropriate, ongoing contact with a 15-year-old girl from when he was Deacon and Youth Minister for Corpus Christi parish in Clifton Park, NY. The investigation showed photos, calls, text messages, and physical touching that had occurred between them. The girls’ parents contacted the police when they found out about Tayler’s inappropriate exchange with their daughter.

Taylor pleaded guilty to one charge of child endangerment and received no jail time. He was stripped of all his duties as a priest and only had to pay court fines.

As of recently, his name appeared on the Diocese of Albany’s list of “Clergy Credibly Accused While Serving in the Diocese of Albany” which was released in November of 2018.

Since being removed from ministry, his current whereabouts are unknown.
