Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Jerome Stack:
Fr. Jerome “Jerry” Stack, a native of Whiting, Indiana, was a member of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood religious order since 1966. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1972, and served in the Diocese of Santa Rosa for ten years from 1971 to 1981. Over the years his ministry has included teaching high school and college, chaplaincy in a state psychiatric facility in California, and six years as secretary general of his religious congregation in Rome. He retired and moved to Mesa in 2017.
According to media reports, in 2019, an allegation that he sexually abused a child in 1979 was reported to a Religious Superior in Ohio. The Religious Community notified civil authorities, and Fr Stack was removed from active ministry in 2019. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including when and where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim’s age/gender, are unknown.
