Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father John J. Brenkle:

In 2005, Fr. John J. Brenkle was placed on a short leave of absence after a man reported that Brenkle had molested his son in 1995 when in 7th-grade. Fr. Brenkle denied the allegation. The Diocese of Santa Rosa investigated along with local police and found no wrongdoing. Brenkle was exonerated and returned to duty.

Fr. Brenkle says he has a letter from the youth saying that nothing happened. Brenkle has been serving as chairman of diocese’s Lay Review Board. He retired in 2013.
