Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. John J. Rebovich:

Father John Rebovich, originally ordained as a member of the Oblates of St. Joseph religious order, has been accused of sexual abuse by multiple persons in the Dioceses of Harrisburg as well as in the Byzantine Diocese of Parma (Ohio). He also worked in the Byzantine Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Diocese of Scranton before his permanent removal from ministry in 1990 following allegations that he sexually abused multiple children. He was never laicized.

In 2002, the Byzantine Catholic Diocese of Parma was sued by several men who said that they were abused by Rebovich in the late 1970s.

Rebovich’s name appears on the Diocese of Harrisburg’s list of accused priests, published in August 2018. According to the Diocese of Harrisburg, it received one allegation of abuse against Rebovich sometime after the initial allegation was made in 1990. No additional information was provided by the Diocese as to the nature of the misconduct or Rebovich’s assignment at the time of the abuse.

According to the Diocese of Harrisburg, Rebovich is now deceased.
