Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father John Lord:

Father John “Jack” Lord was ordained a priest in 1983, who served in the Diocese of Orange. According to media reports, in December 2003, he was one of six priests accused in a civil lawsuit of the sexual abuse of minors. No date was given for the alleged abuse nor was information on the parish where it occurred. A victim of Father Lord’s sexual abuse was included in the $3,739,842 settlement paid out by the Diocese of Orange.

Father  Lord had been serving at St. Columban Church for six years before his death in February 1989 at age 46, due to complications from AIDS. He was the first priest in the Diocese of Orange acknowledged to have died from an AIDS-related illness.
