Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father John B Mea:

In August of 2003, a lawsuit was filed against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany that alleged a priest molested an altar boy in the 1960s. The priest, who is now deceased, was Fr. John B Mea. The case against him was thrown out due to Mea not being assigned to the parish at the right time that the victim had described as where the abuse occurred.

According to media reports, the abuse is said to have occurred between 1961 and 1964, but church records show Mea was an assistant pastor in North Creek at that time and did not transfer to St. Joseph’s until 1967. This is documented as the only case or alleged abuse made against Mea.

Mea died in 1984.
