Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father John Soister:

According to media reports, Fr. John Soister was accused of sexually abusing a 14-yr-old girl in 1976. He and another priest took her and some friends to a beach house where he gave her alcohol and assaulted her. He was placed on sick leave in 1978. In May 1994, he was laicized. 

In February 2019, Soister‘s name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.

Soister’s current whereabouts and whether he has had access to children from 1978 through the present are unknown.
