Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father John McDonald:

Fr. John McDonald was a priest of the Oregon Province, ordained in 1943. He spent most of his career at Bellarmine Preparatory High School in Takoma, Washington. During the late 1940s through the 1950s, he was assigned to St. Mary’s Indian Mission in Omak, WA. He also briefly served in the Diocese of San Jose.

According to media reports, in 2007, Fr. McDonald’s name was included on the Diocese of Spokane list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse. In 2018, his name was included on the Jesuits West Province list. It noted allegations of abuse that occurred from 1948-1953, 1953-1960, 1959-1965, were reported in 2009. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims or the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.

Fr. McDonald died in 1985.
