Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Jose Angel Borges:

In 2019, the Archdiocese of New York received a report accusing Fr. Jose Angel Borges of sexual abuse of a minor back in 1977 when Borges was serving at Institute Ignaciano in Puerto Rico. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim or the nature of the sexual abuse is unknown.

Borges was named publicly as credibly accused by the Northeast Jesuits on its list of Jesuits with Credible Accusations of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in 2019. He was also added to the Jesuits Central and Southern Province List in 2020.

Borges’ whereabouts and whether he had access to children until his death is unknown. Borges died in 2007.
