Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Jose Luis Contreras:

Fr. Jose Luis Contreras was ordained a priest in 1967, who served in multiple dioceses including in the Diocese of Santa Rosa. According to media reports, in 1987, he was accused of touching the genitals of a 17-year-old boy, who was a patient at a San Antonio, TX, hospital where Contreras was chaplain. Contreras was was sent for treatment and barred from working in San Antonio-area churches again. He celebrated 50th anniversary of ordination in a parish in Colima, Mexico in 2017, and retired later that year.

In 2019, Fr. Contreras was named on the the Archdiocese of San Antonio list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse.
